Skida began with a sewing machine and a love for skiing in Vermont. We’ve grown a lot since our founder, Corinne, started making hats for her nordic skiing teammates, but through it all, we’ve remained committed to working with local, small-scale production of our original Vermont-made product styles.

Our core Vermont Collection has been manufactured in our home state from the start. And while Corinne's sewing machine can no longer keep pace with the growing demand for hats, headbands, and neck gaiters, the network of local sewists can.

Vermont’s rural character and strong sense of community have nurtured a rich tradition of cottage industry in the state.

We prioritize working with our U.S.-based production network. As we expand our product line and introduce more advanced technical features, we have selectively produced some products outside the U.S. to meet Skida’s high standards (like the Running Cap!).

We’re proud to have developed our assortment to support your needs and favorite activities. In doing so, we’ve expanded our production network to ensure we maintain the best balance of quality, performance, and price.

More than 80% of our products are made in the U.S., of which we are proud to continue producing over 40% right here in Vermont. That means, less than 20% of our manufacturing is overseas, including our Made in Nepal Cashmere Collection sourced directly from family-owned knitting and weaving mills in the Kathmandu Valley.
